Brooke Patterson, a junior at the University of North Alabama (UNA) from Rogersville, has successfully completed a summer internship with the Alabama Space Grant Consortium (ASGC). Patterson, who is double majoring in Secondary Education and Mathematics,
leveraged her academic background to support STEM education and NASA's Artemis program. During her internship, she developed age-appropriate presentations focused on NASA's mission to return humans to the Moon and the broader implications of space exploration. UNA became part of the ASGC in late 2023, providing its students with direct access to scholarships, fellowships, and internships. Patterson was selected as the first education intern in the program through a collaboration between ASGC and UNA faculty in the Spencer College of Education and Human Sciences.
