What's Happening?
Indonesia has signed a contract with Leonardo for 12 M-346F Block 20 light fighters, marking the country as the first in Asia to acquire this variant. The deal, valued at approximately €1 billion, includes localized maintenance services. This acquisition
is part of Indonesia's strategy to diversify its military equipment and improve interoperability. The M-346F is a multirole light fighter equipped with advanced radar, data link, and electronic countermeasures. The first aircraft are expected to be delivered by 2030, making Indonesia the 23rd operator of the M-346 globally.
