NTU International A/S has been awarded a contract to support the expansion of the Qorlortorsuaq Hydropower Plant in South Greenland. This project aims to significantly increase Greenland's renewable electricity production, thereby reducing reliance on fossil
fuels. The assignment involves a comprehensive review of previous investigations, conducting new field and technical studies, and assessing various dam and tunnel designs. Key tasks include updating hydrological models to account for glacial melt and sediment transport, preparing a revised concept design with technical specifications and cost estimates, and undertaking environmental and social impact assessments.
