ClinGen, the Clinical Genome Resource, and the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Resource (ClinPGx), which includes the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC), have formed a critical partnership. This collaboration aims to expand ClinGen’s
extensive clinical genetics resources to incorporate pharmacogenomics (PGx) knowledge. ClinPGx serves as a primary resource for the PGx research and implementation communities, offering expert-curated gene-drug and variant-drug summaries based on peer-reviewed publications, clinical guidelines, and regulatory drug labels. The partnership facilitates the characterization and dissemination of the clinical relevance of pharmacogenetic variations through transparent and documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). While ClinGen’s Expert Panels focus on gene-disease relationships, ClinPGx specializes in gene-drug and variant-drug associations, providing a comprehensive view of how genetic variations influence drug responses. This integration ensures that pharmacogenomics knowledge is represented at the gene level on the ClinGen website, displaying PGx relationships alongside validation, dosage, and actionability curations.
