His professional career included significant roles at Kodak, Prudential, Dunkin Donuts, and Emerson Electric Company, where he worked for 25 years. He later led the Pritikin Longevity Center in Miami, FL. In retirement, he mentored young business owners in Chicago. Putnam was an avid sports fan, music enthusiast, and culinary explorer. He is survived by his wife, Nina Strnad, and his twin sons, Nicholas and Samuel.
