Tate's manufacturing facility in St. Paul, Virginia, is installing a new 36,000-gallon rainwater harvesting system. This initiative aims to provide the St. Paul Fire Department with a consistent and reliable water source for emergency response and regular
training activities. The system, expected to be operational by fall 2026, is projected to collect approximately 30,000 gallons of rainwater monthly. This volume is sufficient to meet the fire department's typical water needs, thereby reducing their dependence on potable water supplies. The project is part of Kingspan’s Planet Passionate initiative, a global 10-year program focused on addressing climate change, circularity, and environmental protection. Kingspan Group's broader goal is to harvest 100 million liters of rainwater across all its facilities by 2030. Tate's engineering and maintenance teams have developed a web-based monitoring system to track water collection and usage, with automated alerts for firefighters when water is available.
