Embraer is partnering with Nigerian airline Air Peace to establish a new Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) center in Lagos, Nigeria. The project, which was initially proposed two years ago, is set to begin construction later this month and is expected to be completed within 12 to 15 months. Embraer will provide expertise in various aspects of MRO, including hangar and capacity planning, tooling needs, and technical training. The collaboration aims to support Air Peace's fleet, which includes several Embraer jets, and potentially extend MRO services to other aircraft types. This development follows a visit to Brazil by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema.
