Donald S. Erickson, a Vietnam War veteran and retired instrument repair technician, passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on April 30, 1941, in Eveleth, Erickson graduated from Gilbert High School in 1959 and attended Eveleth Jr. College.
He was drafted into the United States Army, serving honorably during the Vietnam War before being discharged in 1966. Erickson then embarked on a long career at the Erie Mining Company, eventually retiring from LTV in 2000 after 35 years of service. Known for his love of the outdoors, Erickson enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, and skiing. He is survived by his brother, Ray Erickson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
