A man has died and three teenagers sustained injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Bartholomew County, Indiana. The incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. on Thursday on State Road 11 near County Road 800 South. Indiana State Police reported
that a 2009 Pontiac G6, driven by a 17-year-old girl from Seymour, was traveling northbound when it crossed the centerline, colliding nearly head-on with a southbound 2020 Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata was driven by 18-year-old Aparicio Martin-Bartolome, also from Seymour. Both vehicles left the roadway after the impact. Pascual Baltazar-Pascual, a 42-year-old passenger from Seymour in the front seat of the Sonata, died at the scene. The 17-year-old driver of the Pontiac was transported to an Indianapolis area hospital with serious injuries. Martin-Bartolome was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment, and a 15-year-old passenger in the rear seat of the Sonata was also taken to an Indianapolis area hospital. Toxicology results are pending, and Baltazar-Pascual’s family has been notified. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
