Energy Fuels, a company listed on the NYSE American and TSX, has announced its intention to increase its uranium production to 2.5 million pounds annually by 2026. The Colorado-based company, which operates the only conventional uranium mill in the United
States, is advancing its Nichols Ranch in-situ recovery project in Wyoming and the Whirlwind mine in Colorado. These projects, along with existing operations, are expected to boost the company's annual production rate. Energy Fuels plans to produce up to one million pounds of finished uranium oxide (U3O8) in 2025 from stockpiled ore mined at its Pinyon Plain, La Sal, and Pandora mines. The company has reported that the ore from Pinyon Plain is among the highest-grade uranium mined in the U.S. Processing of this ore began in October and is expected to continue into early 2026.
