Lyten, a leader in lithium-sulfur batteries and energy storage, has completed the acquisition of Northvolt Dwa, a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility located in Gdańsk, Poland.
This facility, which spans 25,000 square meters, was initially opened in 2023 and is equipped to ramp up to 6 GWh of energy storage manufacturing capacity, with potential expansion to 12 GWh. The acquisition marks a significant step for Lyten as it enters the rapidly growing BESS market. The Gdańsk facility will serve as a key hub for Lyten's operations in the European Union, with plans to restart production immediately and begin sales by the end of 2025. The acquisition also includes Northvolt's BESS product portfolio and intellectual property, with the first product to be produced being the Voltpack Mobile System, aimed at commercial, industrial, and data center markets.
