What's Happening?
Brenda J. Linert, director of community impact at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, has completed a national training program in Workforce Development Fundamentals. The program, offered by the International Economic Development Council and the Association
of Chamber of Commerce Executives Foundation, aims to enhance the connection between economic development and workforce needs. Linert's training included expert-led sessions, interactive learning, and practical exercises, culminating in a final exam. Her efforts are focused on expanding the workforce and improving housing quality in the region, supported by her leadership in the chamber's Housing and Population and Talent Expansion councils.
Why It's Important?
Linert's certification underscores the critical role of workforce development in regional economic growth. By aligning workforce skills with industry needs, the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber can better support local businesses and attract new investments. Linert's leadership is expected to drive initiatives that address education gaps and enhance the region's talent pool, contributing to long-term economic stability and growth. Her efforts are particularly significant in a post-pandemic economy, where workforce development is crucial for recovery and competitiveness.
