Armstrong International, a leader in thermal utility solutions, has announced plans to double its production capacity for industrial high-temperature heat pumps at its Herstal, Belgium site. Originally
set to produce 50 MW annually, the facility will now aim for 100 MW by 2027. This expansion is driven by increasing demand for decarbonization solutions, supported by the European Commission’s Innovation Fund, which is investing €1 billion to electrify industrial process heat. The Herstal site will undergo significant refurbishment, expanding its production area from 3,700 m² to 7,000 m², and will integrate sustainable technologies such as geothermal energy and solar panels. The project is expected to create 77 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs, bolstering regional industry growth.
