The Lahore government has announced the conditional approval for the manufacture and sale of kites in preparation for the Basant festival in 2026. Manufacturing will begin on December 30, with sales permitted
from February 1 to February 8. The festival will be celebrated from February 6 to 8 under strict safety regulations to prevent accidents. The use of hazardous materials like nylon and metallic wire is banned, and safety measures for motorcyclists are mandated. The district administration has implemented a zero-tolerance policy for violations, emphasizing the protection of human lives during the festival.
