GE HealthCare has introduced a new artificial intelligence-enabled SaaS application called CareIntellect for Operations, designed to help healthcare organizations optimize resources and expand access to care. The system aims to address common challenges
faced by health systems, such as rising patient care demands, staffing shortages, and increasing costs. CareIntellect for Operations can forecast capacity constraints up to 72 hours in advance by analyzing patient- and operational-level data, including bed availability and staffing. The application utilizes two proprietary GE HealthCare models: Pressure Forecast and Estimated Day of Discharge, and is informed by over two decades of healthcare operations expertise, including insights from GE’s Command Center software. Honolulu-based Queen’s Health Systems and Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health will be the first two clinical sites to implement this new tool.
