Golden Harvest Food Bank is expanding its Summer Harvest program to South Carolina, offering food assistance to families in need. The program, previously piloted in Georgia, will provide 4,000 boxes of food to families with children who rely on school
meals during the academic year. Each box contains produce, proteins, and prepackaged goods, aiming to alleviate food insecurity in counties with high rates of need. The initiative is supported by a $40,000 grant from Food Lion and involves collaboration with local partners. Distribution will occur from May to August, with dates announced on social media. Registration is not required, encouraging more families to seek assistance.
