Glen Oaks Community College Partners with Employers for EV and Robotics Training

Glen Oaks Community College is celebrating Michigan Manufacturing Week by acknowledging its collaboration with regional employers to enhance Michigan's manufacturing and mobility sectors. The college, in partnership with Southwest Michigan Works, utilized funds from the Electric Vehicle Jobs Academy (EVJA) grant and the Going PRO Talent Fund to deliver 14 customized training sessions to 107 employees from companies such as American Axle, XL/Burke Porter, Morgan Olson, II Stanley, and DeNooyer Automotive Group. These sessions focused on robotics, automation, PLC programming, blueprint reading, OSHA 10, and supply chain management. The initiative aims to bolster Michigan's position in the evolving electric vehicle industry, with companies investing nearly $287,000 in training.
