Ahbstra, a climate tech company, has introduced a new device called the ARK, designed to harvest water from the air, even in arid conditions. This innovation aims to address severe water shortages in southern Europe, where droughts have left many regions
water-stressed. The ARK utilizes Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), a technology recognized with a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2025, to extract water from low-humidity air. The device can produce up to 500 liters of water daily, offering a potential solution for off-grid homes and properties not connected to the main water supply. The technology is particularly relevant for areas like Ibiza, where many properties rely on wells that are now running dry.
