The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has introduced its first-ever crisis response canine named Daisy. Daisy, a four-month-old Australian labradoodle, was donated by Blue Line Doodles of Arizona and other organizations. She is assigned to Detective
Carpenter and Detective Villela of the DPS Crisis Negotiation Team. Daisy is currently undergoing crisis response training and has already participated in her first operational deployment, assisting in a high-risk search warrant. During the operation, Daisy provided comfort to a man experiencing emotional stress, highlighting the importance of crisis canines in reducing stress responses and aiding victims, survivors, and first responders in processing traumatic events.
