What's Happening?
The Careerline Tech Center's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training program, operated by the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (ISD), has been recognized with the Michigan Department of Education CTE Program Excellence in Practice Award. This
accolade was presented during the 2026 Michigan Career Education Conference in Grand Rapids. The award highlights programs that excel in preparing students for careers and higher education, demonstrating outstanding outcomes and measurable success in employment or further education. During the 2024-25 school year, the program offered numerous career awareness and exploration activities, with 40 students participating in hands-on training experiences. The program's success is attributed to the collaborative efforts of paraprofessionals, instructional coaches, advisors, and alumni who engage in career events and mock emergency exercises.
