A 15-year-old schoolgirl from Carrickfergus, County Antrim, named Phoebe Cullen, is making a significant impact by delivering Christmas presents to 300 care home residents. Her initiative aims to alleviate
loneliness among the elderly during the holiday season. Inspired by her great-grandfather's dementia diagnosis, Phoebe began this project last year, initially reaching out to three care homes and one fold. This year, she has doubled her efforts. The gifts, which range from simple items like toothbrushes to chocolates, are intended to brighten the residents' days. Phoebe's great-grandmother assists in organizing and assembling the donations. The gesture has been warmly received by residents, with some recalling the gifts from the previous year, highlighting the lasting impact of Phoebe's kindness.
