What's Happening?
The World Food Programme (WFP) is intensifying its efforts in Vanuatu to bolster disaster preparedness and resilience. The Pacific Island Countries and Territories, including Vanuatu, are among the most disaster-prone regions globally, facing frequent
natural hazards such as cyclones, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes. These challenges are compounded by logistical constraints and fragile food systems, which exacerbate malnutrition and non-communicable diseases. WFP is providing technical assistance, coordination, and training to local governments to enhance supply chain logistics, emergency telecommunications, and food security.
