What's Happening?
LVMH's Institut des Métiers d’Excellence (IME) is actively training a new generation of artisans in various fields such as leather goods, couture, and watchmaking. The IME collaborates with prestigious
schools to offer work-study programs, allowing students to gain practical experience within LVMH's houses. The initiative aims to preserve rare skills and promote professions with strong employment prospects. In 2025, the IME welcomed 220 new apprentices in France, continuing its mission to train skilled professionals in high-demand sectors.
Why It's Important?
The IME's focus on artisan training is crucial for sustaining the luxury industry's craftsmanship standards. By investing in skill development, LVMH ensures the continuation of high-quality production and innovation within its brands. This initiative addresses the challenge of generational renewal, as many artisans are set to retire by 2030. The program not only supports economic stability by offering employment opportunities but also reinforces LVMH's commitment to excellence and heritage preservation.
