Beacon Offshore Energy has partnered with Tampnet to implement a high-performance digital infrastructure for its Shenandoah deepwater development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. This project, located in the Walker
Ridge area, is a new greenfield initiative intended to serve as a regional hub for future deepwater operations. Tampnet's deployment includes a subsea fiber and 4G/5G network, which will facilitate real-time monitoring, remote collaboration, and data-driven decision-making throughout the platform's lifecycle. The infrastructure integrates private 5G technology with Tampnet's public 4G network and connects with FirstNet and AT&T to support emergency response and high-priority communications. Additionally, satellite backup ensures continuous connectivity. According to Mike Clake, Vice President of Deepwater Developments at Beacon Offshore Energy, this digital infrastructure will enhance efficiency and reduce offshore exposure by enabling real-time monitoring and decision-making.
