Jay M. Bernstein, an American philosopher and critical theorist, has been awarded the 2026 Wiesbaden Helmuth Plessner Prize. Bernstein is recognized for his extensive work on German-language philosophy, particularly his focus on Helmuth Plessner’s Philosophical
Anthropology. The prize, endowed with 20,000 euros, is awarded every three years by the City of Wiesbaden in cooperation with the Helmuth Plessner Society. The award ceremony will take place on September 4, Helmuth Plessner’s birthday, at Wiesbaden City Hall. Following the ceremony, Bernstein will deliver a public lecture titled 'Earth Citizens: Plessner’s Philosophical Anthropology in the Age of Climate Change.'
