Donna J. Nevius, a beloved educator and family matriarch, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Barrington, Illinois. Born on August 29, 1941, in Chicago, she lived a vibrant life filled with passions for
travel, photography, aerobics, music, and games like Mahjong and tennis. Donna spent over 30 years teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language at various high schools, impacting countless students. She was married to Joseph Nevius, a former General Superintendent of Cook County, and together they had two sons, Craig and the late Brian. Despite battling Alzheimer’s for over three years, Donna remained spirited, often singing her favorite songs. Her funeral service is scheduled for January 7, 2026, at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home in Arlington Heights.
