What's Happening?
The Wooster-Wayne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting an event at the Orrville Public Library to honor Patricia Purdy and Dr. Maria Sexton. Purdy, a retired Air Force colonel, served as a surgical nurse during the Vietnam War
and played a role in the release of American hostages from Iran in 1981. Sexton, the first Wayne County resident inducted into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame, was a pioneer in advocating for women's participation in high-level sports.
