What's Happening?
The Philippines' leading broadband providers, PLDT, Globe Telecom, and Converge ICT Solutions, have proposed a $500 million project to construct a nationwide submarine cable system. This initiative aims to improve digital connectivity across the country
by linking major islands through a new subsea network. The proposed system will connect to 14 international submarine cables, enhancing the Philippines' global connectivity. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months of receiving government approval.
