The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation has announced the distribution of over $200,000 in grants to 18 community organizations in the greater Pasadena area as part of its 2026 grant cycle. The grants are aimed at supporting nonprofits involved in education,
sports and recreation, and visual and performing arts. Notable recipients include the San Gabriel Educational Foundation, which received $35,000 to support the San Gabriel Unified School District’s Library Modernization and Literacy Equity Initiative, and the Monrovia Wildcat Band Boosters, awarded $20,000 to support music and performing arts education at Monrovia High School. The funding was made possible through the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, including the Golf Classic presented by J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., which raised over $140,000.
Why It's Important?
This grant distribution underscores the Foundation's commitment to enhancing community resources and opportunities in the Pasadena area. The support for these programs reflects a broader trend of philanthropic efforts aimed at sustaining and enriching community services, which are vital for fostering educational and cultural growth.
What's Next?
The recipient organizations will utilize the grants to implement and expand their respective programs. For instance, the San Gabriel Educational Foundation will proceed with its library modernization initiative, while the Monrovia Wildcat Band Boosters will enhance its music and arts programs. The Foundation will continue its fundraising activities to support future grant cycles, potentially increasing the number of beneficiaries and the scope of funded projects.
