BYD's luxury brand YangWang has unveiled its all-electric hypercar, the U9 Extreme, which achieved a record-breaking top speed of 308 mph during a test at the Automotive Testing Papenburg site in Germany. This speed surpasses the previous record held by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which reached 304.77 mph in 2019. The U9 Extreme is equipped with four motors producing nearly 3,000 horsepower and operates on a 1,200V platform, enhancing performance and efficiency. Production of the U9 Extreme will be limited to 30 units, with no price announced yet.
