What's Happening?
Tertiary Minerals is set to commence phase-three drilling at the Target A1 prospect within the Mushima North project in Zambia. This project is located in the iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) region, 28 kilometers
east of the Kalengwa copper-silver mine. The drilling aims to further assess the mineral potential of the polymetallic prospect, focusing on high-grade silver and copper. The phase-three program will involve approximately 1,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling to test for additional lateral extensions of known mineralization, particularly in the north. This follows the completion of phase-two drilling in mid-2025, which yielded significant intersections of silver, copper, and zinc. All necessary permits have been secured, and preparations for access roads and drill pads are underway.
Why It's Important?
The initiation of phase-three drilling at the Mushima North project is significant for Tertiary Minerals as it represents a strategic move to advance the exploration and potential development of valuable mineral resources. The project's success could enhance the company's portfolio and increase shareholder value. The discovery of high-grade silver and copper could have substantial economic implications, potentially boosting the local economy and contributing to the global supply of these metals. The project's progress is also crucial for the mining industry, as it may lead to the development of new mining operations in the region, creating jobs and fostering economic growth.
What's Next?
As the drilling program progresses, Tertiary Minerals aims to test the potential continuation of mineralization along strike and at depth. The company is focused on producing a maiden mineral resource within the next 12 months. The results of this drilling phase will be closely monitored by stakeholders, including investors and local partners, as they could influence future investment decisions and project development plans. The company plans to provide updates on the drilling progress and results in the coming weeks.
