What's Happening?
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is initiating a major project on the Parkway West near Robinson Town Centre, focusing on the implementation of a diverging diamond interchange at Steubenville Pike. This new interchange aims to eliminate
left turns and reduce the incidence of crashes and injuries in the area. District 11 Executive Jason Zang stated that the project involves building two new bridges on either side of the existing bridge, minimizing disruption to the public during construction. Barriers are currently being installed on the loop ramps connecting to Route 22, and merge areas will be relocated to accommodate the new bridge foundations. The project is part of PennDOT's broader efforts, which also include ongoing work on the Parkway East and the I-79 Wexford interchange.

The entire project is projected to be completed by 2029, at which point the new diverging diamond interchange is expected to alleviate traffic backups onto the Parkway and reduce left-turn related collisions.
