What's Happening?
The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada is set to launch the Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) RED LINE on August 23. This new service will replace the existing Route 109, extending transit coverage over a 12.5-mile route
from the South Strip Transit Terminal to the Las Vegas Medical District. The RED LINE will operate with buses every 12 minutes during daytime hours, seven days a week, and will feature 7.2 miles of dedicated transit lanes to improve travel times. The project, funded by a $149.9 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration, includes enhancements such as shared bus-bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and improved lighting and landscaping. The introduction of 15 new zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell buses is expected to reduce travel time by approximately 20% compared to the previous route.
