Washburn University Institute of Technology celebrated the grand opening of its new campus in North Topeka, Kansas. The facility, located at 2240 N.W. Tyler St., was previously a Kmart store and has been transformed into a modern training hub for advanced
manufacturing programs. The renovations were funded by $6.25 million from the State of Kansas and $1.6 million in federal funding. The new campus aims to meet workforce training needs and support the state's growing industries. It will offer programs in Industrial Machine-Maintenance Technology, Electrical Technology, Cosmetology, and more. Classes are set to begin on August 12.
