What's Happening?
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has extended its contract with Spire Global to continue evaluating data from the Hyperspectral Microwave Sounder (HyMS). This extension, valued at $3 million, will allow NOAA to assess the impact
of hyperspectral microwave data on weather prediction across various atmospheric conditions. The HyMS technology offers high-vertical-resolution atmospheric profiling, which could enhance numerical weather prediction and complement existing observation systems.
