Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, alongside Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, has declared March as Ohio Agriculture Month. This initiative, led by the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA), aims to recognize the significant contributions of the state's farmers, agribusinesses,
and food producers. Ohio is home to approximately 74,000 farms, which cover 13 million acres and contribute to a $124 billion industry. The proclamation highlights the role of agriculture in feeding communities both locally and globally, as well as its impact on the state's economy. Throughout March, ODA Director Brian Baldridge will conduct a statewide tour to engage with farmers, business leaders, and youth, emphasizing the diversity and importance of Ohio's agricultural sector. The ODA has also developed a toolkit to encourage public participation, which includes social media graphics, educational resources, and information on supporting local farmers.
