What's Happening?
Marshall Aerospace, based in Cambridge, UK, has commenced the modernization of 12 C-130J Hercules transport aircraft for the Turkish Air Force. This follows a multiyear contract with the Turkish Ministry
of National Defence. The aircraft, acquired from the UK, are undergoing maintenance and upgrades, including center wing box replacements. The modernization process is part of Turkey's efforts to rejuvenate its aging fleet of Hercules aircraft, which currently includes 19 C-130s. The upgraded C-130Js will enhance Turkey's long-range and heavy-lift capabilities, complementing its existing Airbus A400M Atlas aircraft.
