The collaboration with IAT, a leading Chinese automobile designer, highlights the growing economic ties between the Kurdistan Region and China. This project could serve as a model for future industrial collaborations, potentially leading to increased technological transfer and expertise in the region. The plant's success could also encourage other international companies to consider similar investments in Kurdistan.
What's Next?
The next steps involve securing budget allocations and obtaining necessary approvals from relevant ministries. Once these are in place, an investor will take charge of the project. The Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to facilitate the project's development, ensuring that logistical and infrastructural needs are met. The project is expected to progress with further discussions between IAT and local stakeholders at the Erbil International Automobile Exhibition.
