What's Happening?
A cryptography algorithm known as HAWK, designed to be resistant to quantum computer attacks, has been withdrawn from consideration as a US standard after a flaw was discovered. The flaw was identified by Anthropic's Mythos AI security model, which found
weaknesses in the mathematical problems underpinning HAWK. This algorithm was in its third round of testing by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for post-quantum cryptographic algorithms.
