Jackie, a bald eagle that gained international fame through a live nest camera in California, has died after weeks of medical treatment following an illness. Jackie was rescued on July 17 after reportedly
being involved in a fight with two other eagles. Despite receiving intensive care, including a blood transfusion and oxygen therapy, Jackie passed away at the Ojai Raptor Center. Her remains are now with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Jackie and her partner, Shadow, became internet sensations through a live camera installed by Friends of Big Bear Valley in 2015, allowing viewers to watch them raise their young near Big Bear Lake.
