What's Happening?
Vietnam displayed a range of new military equipment during its 80th National Day parade in Hanoi. The showcased systems, developed locally, include the XTC-02 armored personnel carrier, the XCB-01 infantry fighting vehicle, the VCS-01 Truong Son coastal defense missile system, and the VU-C2 loitering munition. This display aligns with Vietnam's strategic goal to modernize its armed forces and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, particularly Russia. The XTC-02 APC, developed by the General Department of Defence Industry, features advanced weaponry and capabilities, including a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun and a 7.62 mm heavy machine gun, with a top speed of 95 km/h on land.
