A tragic incident occurred in Big River, California, where Emily Panuco, a 26-year-old mother from Parker, Arizona, died while protecting her 5-year-old son from a dog attack. The attack took place at her mother's home, where a pack of dogs, including
those that had recently had puppies, attacked the child when he attempted to pet them. Panuco intervened to protect her son and was bitten multiple times, leading to her death. The child sustained severe bites but was treated and released from a nearby hospital. The adult dogs involved in the attack were euthanized. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Division is investigating the incident.
