Calderdale Council has approved detailed plans for a new clinical building at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, Yorkshire. The development, part of a £196.5 million investment by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, will include 10 inpatient
wards and a new accident and emergency department. The building will be between three and four storeys high, featuring modern construction methods and sustainability measures. Laing O’Rourke, the preferred partner for the design stage, is set to begin construction in summer 2026, pending final approval from the Department of Health and Social Care.
