The 5 Freeway near East Los Angeles was closed following a pursuit involving a suspect who stopped in the middle lanes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department initiated the chase near Lakewood after identifying the suspect's vehicle as allegedly
stolen. The pursuit, which was conducted at a slow speed, concluded in the northbound lanes near the Sacramento exit in Boyle Heights. The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert, leading to the closure of all northbound lanes after the suspect refused to surrender.
