The Oak Lawn Police Department has promoted two of its officers, Stephen Scannell and Nick Kunke, to the positions of patrol sergeant and lieutenant, respectively. These promotions were announced during a recent Village Board meeting, coinciding with
the upcoming retirement of Division Chief Patrick Curran after 28 years of service. Scannell, with 18 years of experience in the patrol and tech divisions, and Kunke, with 20 years in the patrol and detective divisions, are set to take on their new roles. Additionally, the Village Board has approved a funding agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the 95th Street Downtown Street Lighting Upgrades. This project, supported by a $722,000 grant, aims to replace outdated lightposts with Energy Star-rated LED lights along U.S. Route 20, enhancing energy efficiency, visibility, and safety.
