What's Happening?
Poland's Armaments Agency has entered into three contracts with WB Group for the procurement of over 400 Warmate loitering munition systems, nearly 200 Flyeye unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and 12 battery-level
units of the Gladius unmanned aircraft system (UAS). This agreement, announced on May 28, 2026, is part of a broader initiative funded by the European Union's Security Action for Europe (SAFE) financial instrument. SAFE provides member states with access to long-term loans for defense capability investments. The Gladius system, a key component of the contract, includes both air and land elements, featuring the FT-5 UAV for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) purposes. These systems will be integrated with the Topaz battle management system currently used by the Polish Armed Forces.
