What's Happening?
The Clarksburg History Museum, located in the old Hope Gas building in downtown Clarksburg, was founded in 2017 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Since its opening on November 11, 2018, the museum has expanded its offerings to educate the community
about the town's history, its people, and stories. The museum features exhibits covering various aspects of life in Clarksburg, including prehistoric exhibits, military memorabilia, and a room dedicated to Civil War General Thomas J. 'Stonewall' Jackson. It also emphasizes Clarksburg's role as a major logistical center during the Civil War. The museum hosts events focusing on local history, such as seminars and tours of historic cemeteries and Civil War sites.
