What's Happening?
The 2026 State of the Science Summit on Reducing Methane from Animal Agriculture was held in June at the University of California, Davis. This annual event, now in its fourth year, brought together hundreds of stakeholders, including researchers, producers,
policymakers, and industry partners, to discuss advancements in reducing methane emissions from livestock. The summit was co-organized by Spark Climate Solutions, the UC Davis CLEAR Center, the UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The event featured 18 sessions, all of which are now available for viewing online. The conference aimed to accelerate solutions for mitigating livestock enteric methane, a significant contributor to global warming.
