Emil W. Iverson, a 97-year-old resident of Vernon Hills, Illinois, passed away on June 10, 2026. Born in Minnesota and raised in Chicago, Iverson was a proud Marine and a former running back at Northwestern University. He was known for his love of family,
cars, and sports, particularly the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks. Iverson was also a fan of John Wayne movies and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He is survived by his sister Phyllis, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Iverson was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Muriel, and his daughter-in-law, Terese. The Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville handled the funeral arrangements.
