What's Happening?
Anaheim recently hosted the 46th annual Orange County Black History Parade, organized by the Orange County Heritage Council. The event brought together local community organizations, schools, and Black sororities and fraternities to celebrate Black history
and culture. This year's theme, 'Unity in Purpose,' featured participants such as the Anaheim Unified High School District’s Social Justice Collective and Cal State Fullerton’s Black Student Union. The parade, originally founded by Helen Shipp in 1980, aims to promote cultural awareness and highlight the historical contributions of Black individuals in Orange County. The event also included a Unity Festival with arts, crafts, and a food fest, along with a Health Village offering resources and screenings.
